Busy stuff

I feel bad not to come and post in my blog, feel like I have been neglecting it, but I have been so busy with so many little things! Lots of errands, doctor visits (one kid hurt his shoulder, the other is growing too fast), and plenty of painting. I have just had enough time to visit FB shortly and keep running.
But when I start scanning my images (emphasis in "when") I will have a lot to share here.

For now, I have a very sweet image a lady asked if she could paint, from the mama dove in my patio in the past post. Her name is Joan Bryson.

I think it turned out nicely ♥

And before I forget, the Exquisite Corpse I organized is going awesome! This is Milo Wylde Chin's from my Team #1:

The mermaid part was made by moi. I will publish the others as they come. No one knows the end look of the piece till we are all done!
Can't wait to see mine!

Face in the World update

Here is Manon's painting, as she was done by my team so far:

And after thinking for a while on what to do to her in my turn, this if what I changed:

I shorten the hair, gave her a uni brow, and being a Frida-lady then she of course needed more flowers, so I cloned the Flower detail she had and also painted a necklace like one of Frida's portraits and highlighted the leaves.

She is ready to go back to her original home ♥
  ~*~

I hope all the mothers out there had a happy day! Here is a photo I took of a mama dove that made her nest in my patio, I think today her babies took off flying because we went to check and the nest was empty. They were ready to go :o) Sniff sniff

Abstracts

This past week or two I have been obsessed with mono printing. It is so much fun! But best of all, it allows me to finally like my abstracts. I have never been able to enjoy or create a decent abstract. I am still not where I wish to be, which is a more organic level, but I am satisfied this far :o)
This are just a sample of my recent work. I have probably 100 more I made :oD

I also have been working on my Face in the World painting, I will pot tomorrow, and mail it to Manon in the UK. and her Paper Saturday HERE

yaay! So happy!

Last February while running the 29 faces, I posted a hint of my work, as part of another project see HERE for those that didn't see it.
And today I am so happy to tell you more about it. It was a collaboration with the wonderful singer Julien Neel, for one of his Barber Shop quartet songs:

I am so happy!  \(◔‿◔)/

Face in the World update!

Here is another beautiful face from my team! Started by Reagan Tomlin. In my turn I added the purple background with gold dry brush, and painted the edges black (it is a wood panel).

It's already on the mail to the UK. yaaay!

Another month gone...

I can't believe how fast time goes when I'm having a challenge! I made 25 hands through the month of April, which is a bigger amount I imagine doing! I expected to make maybe 8. :oD  Thank you for your great ideas and suggestions! You made the challenge more fun for me ♥

These coming weeks I will be doing weird drawings for an "Exquisite Corpse" I organized with some members of the 29 faces group in Facebook. It is not my usual style but it is good to get out of our comfort zone once in a while :o) Unfortunately I forgot to scan them before I mailed them... I guess I will wait till they are all done and are mailed back to me.

I have to show you the awesome work my team in "Face in the World" is doing to my painting! The face painted by Manon, the hair added by Reagan. Looks at this:

Thanks for visiting! And Happy May day for those that celebrate it ♥

Journal page and fun

I have been painting up a storm, and for whatever reason forgot to upload to my blog. I have not been online as much anyway, my DH took a day off, we ran a bunch of errands and enjoyed the nice weather, then we were updating apps and this computer which hardly ever takes them well. I am still yet to fix the last update of the Live Movie Maker :o/ ugh...
But anyway, the fun part: images!

 Added flesh tones:

Painting the face features with many translucent layers:

Two different "L"

After I finished drawing these hands, I stopped to think one was "love" and the other one a sign of "looser". Funny that I have those two L letters together... :oB

I finished the page of the face I showed yesterday, will post it tomorrow.
The teams for the "Exquisite corpse" are selected (what is that? well, google it, but we are aiming for whimsical, not too grotesque!) So anyway... soon we will be mailing each other drawints to finish together.... Another activity from the 29 faces group.
If any other person would like to participate in "spontaneous"  collabs and challenges, just let me know!

WIP and 4 hands

I am working on another page in my journal, this is the first scary step:

More WIPs coming soon...

I have to say, out of all the things I have penciled in my life, baby hands are the hardest! I made a few that I had to destroy, they were terrible lol Finaly I made an adult hand to go as a visual reference, because my baby hands were looking like fat decrepit monster hands
ლ(ಠ_ಠლ) ugh!

Also, I guess I ended up making them too light, because my scanner didn't want to catch the detail unless it was ALL detail including paper edges, wrinkles and all lol Some days are like that :oP

And finaly, to leave you with a nicer image, here is the painted face of Wilma's doll. I am still working on her but I wanted to show her little face; she arrived with a blank face and I added paint :o)

Thanks for visiting!

Three more hands

You'll guess these right away!

I am having a lot of fun with the hands but I think I got in too many things this month! lol
Today I worked on the little face of a doll, visiting me from Australia. Since it is painted, I will show tomorrow the picture in this blog as well, I just need good lighting for it, the first I took had very sharp shadows. Can't believe we are reaching the 90's this early!

Crazy hand and cute video

Remember I mentioned a witch hand some days ago? Well, it is finally going to get posted. So much stuff going on I had almost forgotten, poor hand:
And since this one is fantasy (and ugly!), I will also post a fantastic video (and super cute!)
Enjoy:

Face in the World update

With so many things going on, I completely forgot to post about the amazing collab we are doing in my team #3 in Face in the World!
This one was started in charcoal by Marji,  her blog is HERE
Then Sandra transformed her with beautiful shades of blue. Visit her blog HERE.
Here is what I received in the mail:

Blank background ready for me to play with! Took me a couple of days to feel the direction to follow, then I just went for it. I really didn't want to cover the face so.... I cloned it! :oD

I collaged another face and layered it with flesh tones, then I used fluid acrylics for the background. Now I just wonder what Manon is going to do next!

Also, here are 3 more hands for my "Hands in April" challenge:
They are "1", "3" and "4". I didn't make "2" because it looks too close to the "peace and love" I made already :oP
Oh, Oh, OH!! I am so thrilled to hear I was the lucky randomly selected artist to be a PPF Painting Spotlight ♥ HERE

Thanks for visiting! ....Any more input on hands? ;o)

Another Art Journal page

I didn't want to post anything yesterday, with all the terrible news from Boston.
Today I have this page which started as a more angular design, got lost in the layers, took a very scary turn until finally ended in something I agreed with. Has a little collage rice paper:

Thanks for visiting, have a wonderful day ♥

20 minutes...?

I have been timing myself to paint a bit faster in the hopes to loose my brush work. I get too much into detail and although it can be fun, I also admire the more abstract, free paintings.
So.. it was great to find Gritty Jane doing a "20 minute painting" activity. Perfect timing for me.
Now the thing is... do I stop at 20? SO far I have, look a the piece... and keep going a bit more hahaha
I just can't help myself! But it is a nice incentive, to have the impending time stop. For those that perform better under pressure, you should try it!
This is my 20 minute stop:

This is a few minutes later:

Few more minutes...

And this is where I finally stopped. I regret nothing! :oD

I was so caught up in this, that I didn't even think of hands.
But that's ok. Thanks for your visit and your wonderful comments. ♥
Since it has details in orange, it's going to the "Mandaring Orange Monday"
